Transistor – Réitérant – Absurde – Battement – Ubuesque – Mécanique (Transistor – Reiterative – Absurd – Beat – Grotesque – Mechanical)
A cubic sculpture by Carl Andre made of nine interlocked wooden blocks, Trabum (1960, realized in 1977) suggests the idea of an assembly of raw elements that can be either compressed or unfolded.
The electronic part is mostly composed of sounds from a radio transistor, echoing the primitive character of the sonic figures proposed by the instrumental ensemble.
The fusion of all elements obsessively repeats the same beats within an arbitrary frame that gradually slips into absurdity.
