Limen explores the threshold – of timbre, form, and intelligibility – and blossoms in this unstable in-between where choral masses rise towards territories that exceed their own physiological limits. The choir, vast and deep, unfolds a thick and living sound material, saturated with vocal layers and low frequencies as if coming from an underground elsewhere. Threshold and passage intertwine in a vibrant tension between choral and electronic matter – acting as a phantasmatic extension of the vocal body. The work is set in this fragile interstice where a transformation takes place : between the intimate and the collective, between the vocal trace and its spectral reflection. Evanescence is as much a destination as a process, and the fusion of human and machine reveals the vibration of a collective body crossed by archaic tensions.
