Mutatis mutandis – literally “changing what needs to be changed” – questions the evolution of our environment, echoing the urban development of a city – in a destruction/reconstruction relationship. Just as one might redraw the plan of a city with a few strokes of a pencil, drum hits, amplified by electronic sound and synchronized with the image, stripe sound formations that progressively transform. Ultimately, behind the verticality of percussive sounds and the wild pace of machines, it is the relationship to memory and the past that is questioned, with what one perceives – or not – of change.
